Snektek not communicating to renogy controller

I just got the snektek and verified before purchase that it indeed would work with my controller(Renogy advanced rover Li 40 Amp Mppt charge controller) But so far it cannot communicate to controller and wondering if anyone on forum has any ideas? I can connect to it via wifi no problem and even added entities to HA with no trouble so unit is working that way but all i get is "major Setback! I've Lost Contact with the Solar Controller. Verify integrity of Communication Cable." also log just shows this over and over:

Jonathan has been very helpful and this is now working after he changed code for me to the device id 255. Just updating for anyone having same issue as I did. Thanks Jonathan!

Forgot to add.. Seems not to like power from the rover unit so using external USB supply via micro USB port. Thanks.

It seems like the Rover Lis are using different modbus addresses.

Change your update channel to "none". Then try this firmware attached. Do not "erase flash" setting.. I will be adding a setting to set the modbus address very soon.

There's some variability even among the same batch of renogy units how much power they can put out over the cable. The new V6 hardware uses less power so hopefully this won't be an issue going forward.

I've read on the Uk T6 forum that the Renogy DC home app using the Bt-1/ Bt2 dongle are changing the models id's.. If that's any help.
